Activities
Judy is the author of two middle grade novels, SMART and AUDZILLA, and is working on a third. She is represented by Jennie Kendrick at Red Fox Literary.
When she’s not at the computer working or writing, Judy is out in nature, hiking with her partner and dogs, swimming and paddleboarding in the nearby lakes, discussing all things profound and silly with a few of her closest friends*, and definitely not taking herself seriously.
Judy is not afraid to get dirty, and always stops to move turtles off the road.
*Some of Judy’s best friends are non-human beings.
Judy is happiest outdoors, exploring and learning about the wonders of nature. MERS folks may recognize her favourite sweater in this photo where she’s holding the beached remains of a giant barnacle with remnants of a Bull Kelp holdfast attached (French Beach, Vancouver Island). This sweater also happens to be in her favourite colour. She also has the purple and grey ones but doesn’t wear them nearly as much.
Judy gives a helping hand to animals when she can, including moving an endangered baby Western Painted Turtle from a busy road to the lake a few metres down slope, and moving an invasive Red-Eared Slider off the road.
